Monday
In the middle of making bread, I turn away to my cupboards for a second, and when I turn back again a solemn boy (the same little boy who begs me to “rock-rock” and coos “mommy, mommy” in loving tones at nap-time a few hours later) is dumping the contents of the mixer bowl onto the countertop, watching curiously as the honey and water and more run off of the countertop and onto the floor.

Tuesday
My husband works an hour-and-a-half drive away on Tuesdays, so this week we carpool and Teddy, Ellie, and I drive the thirty-five minutes extra to my mom’s place where we make seventeen-and-a-half quarts of soup which my mom pressure cans for me.

Wednesday
In the morning I have an Innovative Idea and make muffin-tin Dutch Babies (simultaneously melting a plastic pot-holder in my oven); in the evening after prayer meeting, the four of us traipse around Home Depot together, enjoying the attention the older ladies give to the children and feeling all dressed up and cute in our khakis, button-downs, long dresses, and black dress shoes.

Thursday
The day we have planned for and prayed over is finally here, and a group of young moms gather to learn, laugh, paint, and eat gorgeous gourmet food–together.

Friday
Cleaning up the chaos from the day before goes well with preparing to host the youth group for the salad course in a progressive meal–as beautiful as I believe any salad bar to be, with grouped bowls of vivid color, I didn’t think of taking a picture.
