Joshua 14:12
Give me this mountain…
This mountain of laundry piled clean on my bed,
And this small one still sleepless as time slips toward ten…
I’ve faced many giants while journeying here:
Nausea and labor and dark night-time fears,
Exhaustion with decaf, the occasional tears.
I’ve fought battles with toddlers–gave up my career…
But the fruit of this land hangs so heavy and sweet!
First smiles, soft snuggles, small faces I love.
The silence at sunrise and grace for the day–
Sounds of learning and laughter and children at play.
So give me this mountain–its heights to explore!
The climb claims my breath, but the view so much more.
